that is if you can even get reservations. We will be touring thru the park and would like to stay at 2-3 nites inside the park if at all possible. We are traveling w/2 kids so will need something accomodating.

I would stay in the Canyon area because of its central location. You can stay in the Lodge or the cabins.
If you want to stay in the park, call Xanterra at (866)439-7375. Cancelations do not make it to the web very quickly. I have found the people at Xanterra very helpful in the past.
One thing you might want to keep in mind with children is there are no TV sets or wi-fi in any of the lodging choices in the park.
For us, we did not miss them.
