My family is planning to go to Yellowstone in July. We%26#39;ll actually be staying in Grand Teton Village for lodging, and we%26#39;re open to whatever experiences come our way. I don%26#39;t like to do too much planning for vacations because then it becomes a job.
My question is this:
We%26#39;re planning on doing a three day llama trek/hike into Yellowstone. I%26#39;m hoping that this will provide plenty for us to see and remember. The rest of the trip, we want to relax, take in local flavor and leisurely visit sites.
Is this a realistic approach to the region?
thanks in advance.

Where are you going on the llama trek? Into the Bechler area?

Thanks for answering question. We might be scratching the llama trek for a couple of reasons.
We only have about 3 days to dedicate to Yellowstone and the llama trek will limit us (unless I%26#39;m wrong.)
So we thought that maybe what we%26#39;d do is do a one day wildlife safari (w/a photographer,) do some hikes on our own, and I%26#39;m not sure how else to approach it.
The rest of the week we%26#39;ll be in Teton Village - my husband has to attend a conference there - so the kids and I will explore Grand Tetons. That seems manageable for me and if hubby can break away for an afternoon, we%26#39;ll be close enough to the Grand Tetons to do a walk with a naturalist, etc.
What do you think of what I%26#39;ve written?
With all that being said, I%26#39;m changing our lodging into Yellowstone for the first 3 nights, if I can get a room.
Any suggestions.
Thanks.
