Any suggestions for a hotel/lodge outside Yellowstone Park either the ease or south entrance.
Hotels/lodges outside Yellowstone
From the north entrance we have stayed at the Best Western Mammoth Springs Hotel, from the east entrance(50 miles from the park) we are staying this year at the Cody Cowboy Village. We stayed last year at the west entrance at West Yellowstone in the Best Western Desert Inn.The south entrance is acutually on the edge of the Grand Tetons and you would need to go to Jackson Hole. We stayed at the Wyoming Inn last year and are staying this year at the Sundance Inn.

If you want a more fulfilling park experience, with less time traveling to and from the park%26#39;s highlights, I%26#39;d suggest in the park.
I agree about staying in the park but if you cannot then choose West Yellowstone as a base for several days then make your way to Cody and see the museums and rodeo and enjoy the eastern entrance then go thru Grand Tetons to Jackson Hole.
there are a lot of options that are outside the park, depending on how far you want to drive. out the north entrance there are several good places in gardiner. just north of there is my favorite place but it%26#39;s about 50 miles from the north entrance. it%26#39;s called chico hot springs. it%26#39;s more than just a place to stay at night. it would be great after a tiring day because they have a hot springs you can soak in %26amp; a great restaurant.
out the east entrance you probably have to go to cody. that%26#39;s about 80 miles to the park entrance. however, cody would be a great place to stay after you make the loop out the ne entrance %26amp; drive the chief joseph scenic parkway (50 miles). beautiful drive %26amp; you can go to the rodeo in cody that night before heading back into the park the next day.
west yellowstone is your option out the west entrance. nothing fancy but some nice places to stay %26amp; eat.
south of ynp your options are either find something in the grand teton area or go all the way down to jackson, which is a great drive. if you%26#39;re going to be visiting yellowstone, you have to stay at least one night in jackson. an absolutely great town. lots of great places to stay. i like the sundance inn which is only one block from the square. the wagon wheel has lots of room options. any of the town square inns would be good.
