We will be stopping in Jackson on our way to GTNP then on to Yellowstone, staying in the park at both places. Since we will not have a ';modern'; conviences for the next 5 nights, while in Jackson we would like to stay somewhere a little nicer. We would also like to be near the town square, esp the million dollar cowboy bar. I am currently between the trapper inn and the inn on the creek. Any one have any comments or other suggestions? Oh, we will be there in July for our Honeymoon.
In town lodging
the wort house is there and gets good reviews. we haven%26#39;t stayed there, but it%26#39;s very close to the cowboy bar, and we thought they had an excellent restaurant. man that wort burger was good...i can still see my wife%26#39;s eyes rolling.

The Wort Hotel is great. Couldn%26#39;t ask for a better location and the bar is a fun places to hang out. The hotel definitely carries the Jackson/Western Theme to it. I did look at their rooms about 6 years old (had some friends staying there) and thought there were a little dated. But I think they have remodeled them most of them since then. All and all, a great place to stay.
The Trapper Inn is very nice. Only about a 3 block walk to the town square. Make sure you ask for a room in the new buildings. They are less than two years old and they did a great job with them.
Not to sure about Inn on the Creek. Have never been inside it, but it looks like a very nice hotel and the location is about 3-4 blocks from the town square. For location, if you are looking to be close to town, but still not have a lot of traffic around you, this would be a great place.
Hope this helps!
We liked the Buckrail Lodge. It%26#39;s a bit further from the square (only about 3 blocks further, I think). Jackson isn%26#39;t that big. Check out their website: buckraillodge.com. If you are interested, book early. They only have about a dozen rooms. It%26#39;s one of the cleanest motels I have stayed in.
the inn on the creek is great. it%26#39;s a very small, quaint hotel/bed %26amp; breakfast inn. it%26#39;s one of my favorites but it%26#39;s about 4 blocks from the square. the trapper has recently been remodeled %26amp; is very nice. about 3 blocks from the square.
i don%26#39;t know how much you want to spend but our favorite place (%26amp; we%26#39;ve stayed a bunch of places in jackson) is the sundance inn. it%26#39;s a throwback to the 1960%26#39;s old time motels. very, very clean %26amp; great owners. they serve a super continental breakfast in the mornings. the sundance is one block from the square %26amp; million dollar cowboy bar, right next to the wort (nicest hotel in jackson). they have two upstairs rooms that are suites %26amp; have balconies overlooking downtown.
good luck %26amp; have a great time in jackson.
