My wife and I will be heading over to Jackson over President%26#39;s Day weekend, and we will be looking for one or too fairly inexpensive places (maybe under $10/person/entree if possible) to eat as well as one that could be a bit higher than that. We are poor college students, but we want to have a good time, but we don%26#39;t have much money. Where would be some good places to eat. We have heard about a place called Bubba%26#39;s, but is it as good as everyone says? Anyhow, and suggestions would be much appreciated.
Dinner
bubba%26#39;s is a bbq place %26amp; is pretty good. they have a great breakfast as does jedediah%26#39;s. the sweetwater restaurant is one of our favorites. you could do lunch there for $20 %26amp; dinner for $30. this time of year there should be some specials because it%26#39;s the off season. pick up on of the attraction books that are everywhere. i%26#39;m sure there are some coupons %26amp; half off discounts.
Dinner
Maybe a brew pub... Snake River Brewing Co.
Or big burgers at Billy%26#39;s Giant Hamburgers or a meal at Cadillac Grille www.cadillac-grille.com
A visit to the Million Dollar Bar which has a steakhouse which may be expensive, plus there is food available in the bar at Philly%26#39;s Phinest Grill!
Also I remember a decent meal at the Mangy Moose when I was a grad student and had no money!
Have fun! We have a nice meal planned for this summer at the Gun Barrel Steakhouse, but that might be more than you want to spend.
GunBarrel has a nice menu but you know they must be expensive when they don%26#39;t list the prices!
We liked Bubba%26#39;s a lot when we visited 11 years ago, but I did read a local poster say it has gone downhill. The quality of meats isn%26#39;t as good, according to him. The prices are very reasonable. If it%26#39;s the way it was 11 years ago, I%26#39;d strongly recommend it. Maybe some other locals can give you some insight. Have fun!
Bubba%26#39;s has a great b%26#39;fast. Haven%26#39;t done lunch or dinner. Calico on village road would be nice, you don%26#39;t have to order appetizer, salad entre dessert. If you share Bruschetta %26amp; salad then do entre, could be in budget.
Trio has been getting raves, nationally in magazines. Daughter had gourmet pizza and salad, reasonable (we did risotto %26amp; salad, might be more than your budget) Restaurant is known locally for BLT soup!!!
Also, if you spring for a nice place for lunch you can enjoy places like National Museum of Wildlife Art (the cafe has good food, views are across the Elk Refuge beautiful; if you can budget a sleigh ride in the elk refuge, it will be a lasting sweet memory about $16 per person) Sweetwater and Trio in town, and do a lite dinner. Sidewinders might also fit the budget. (reasonable menu)
If you like Sub sands, New York Subs is great; get a whole and share. (they cut in half); trust me, you will talk about it for days.
Be aware that the weekend will be BUSY, the Shriner Cutter Race will be here over the weekend. Track is south of town (near where I live, bummer)
Go to Billy%26#39;s Giant Hamburgers. You will have a fun time there and the burgers are excellent.
