THINKING OF MID-SEPTEMBER. looking for comparisons of the two lodges and seasonal advise as well. 2 couples looking to get away with some convieneces but not too many. want to hike and kayak/canoe. looking for luxury and privacy, but the kind of luxuriousness that will bring you close to nature like camping affords, but without the work of camping, we save that for the family. We are leaving behind 5 children each. suggestions please.
jackson lake lodge vs. Jenny lake lodge
Jackson Lake Lodge gets my vote. Good food, good location, great views. Here%26#39;s links to pictures from out trip last June.

We were only there for one night. My wife says for next June, we%26#39;ll be there two nights. It was a nice place. I couldn%26#39;t begin to justify the cost of Jenny Lake Lodge.
I reread your question and am not sure what you want. I don%26#39;t consider camping luxurious. Even in our 12x14 ';condo'; tent. I%26#39;ve never heard anyone not in a big RV talk about luxury.
You might check Signal Mountain Lodge and Colter Bay cabins just for comparison.
You%26#39;re an easy drive to Yellowstone if you want a day trip.
Mid-September should be beautiful
jackson lake lodge vs. Jenny lake lodge
these are two completely different lodges. jenny lake is very romantic with private cabins %26amp; a very nice restaurant (coat required). it%26#39;s an all inclusive stay with breakfast %26amp; dinner included usually. they also offer horseback riding as part of the package cost. it%26#39;s a place that we%26#39;ve done once but because of the price probably won%26#39;t do it again.
jackson lake is very nice, although the rooms are fairly plain. it%26#39;s very big %26amp; the view is great. a much busier area to stay %26amp; right in the heart of the action, whereas jenny lake is a little more laidback.
signal mountain lodge -- opinions???
We stayed at Signal mountain last summer and loved it. Going back for 1 week this year! Very nice cabins, beautiful area right on Jackson Lake, can%26#39;t beat it for sunsets, centrally located in the park so easy access to everything and very nice people! In short would highly recommend it.
