We have stayed at the Wyoming Inn but prices have gone up and I need 2 bedrooms because college age son will be coming on vacation with us. Have heard from TA forum members about Pony Express, 49er, and Sundance Inn. Has anyone stayed at these motels and
can give me some feedback? Are there other suggestions? We will be in Jackson on June 3 and June 4. Thanks

We stayed two nights at the 49er in 2005.
We had a large bedroom with two queen beds, a fireplace and mini fridge. The room was clean and the only problem was in the night when it snowed and the wind whistled down the chimney and kept us awake.
Complimentary breakfast (the usual muffins, coffee, juice, eggs, fruit) was available at the Mexican restaurant next door.
There was ample parking in front of the motel and we were able to walk to the square and dinner in the evening.

i love the sundance inn. think 1960%26#39;s era motel but it is really neat. just one block from the square. they have two suites upstairs (only rooms up there) if you need separate sleeping areas. very reasonable.
also, wagon wheel village is a good place to stay but it%26#39;s about 4-5 blocks north of the square. i like it because they have everything you need right on site. several room options (including 2 br%26#39;s), restaurant, laundry, saloon, convenient store, etc. it%26#39;s right across from the visitor%26#39;s center.
it all depends how important staying right on the square is.
49%26#39;er is good too. haven%26#39;t stayed at the pony express.
Thanks for the info. Most of the response about the Sundance Inn has been very positive. The homemande breakfast has gotten rave reviews and when I called about rooms they were very helpful. I got two rooms for $94 each.
