10 Day Vacation In August

We will be flying into SLC on August 4th, spend 1 night, then head on up to Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. Can anyone suggest a good travel plan and maybe some affordable hotels for our trip. I think we%26#39;re really too late to get a room in the parks. (Although we would consider camping!) We will be leaving SLC the morning of August 14th. Thanks!

10 Day Vacation In August

There are still rooms available that week in Tetons and a few places in YS around the 8th! Check online at www.travelyellowstone.com and even call to check for rooms they don%26#39;t put on the website. We are headed there that week and I am still looking for lodging in a few places!

Day 1 Aug 4: Arrive SLC. Stay there.

Day 2 Aug 5 Drive to Jackson. Stay in Jackson. So far I have found decent rates at motels in Jackson: Anvil MOtel and 49%26#39;r Motel. Also in Teton Colter Bay Cabins and Jackson Lake Lodge still have availability.

Day 3 Aug 6 Stay in Jackson/Tetons again

Day 4 Aug 7 Tetons again.

Day 5 Aug 8 YS. If you can%26#39;t get inside the park.. THen get lodging in West YS

Day 6 Aug 9 YS

Day 7 Aug 10 YS

Day 8 Aug 11 Drive out to Cody for the day.. see the museums. Stay there if you don%26#39;t have lodging inside the park.

Day 9 Aug 12 Visit YS in the morning.. on to Jackson for the night.

Day 10 Aug 13 Drive to SLC

Day 11 Aug 14 Depart SLC

Maybe see some of the great Beartooth hw (212) and/or Chief Joseph hw (296) via Yellowstones NE entrance on your way to Cody. Also in Cody, the night rodeo is worth a visit.
