lodging help for family in late June/July

I%26#39;m looking for ideas of a place to stay in the Jackson area. First night off the plane just need a decent motel/hotel. Any thoughts on Elk Country Inn? Then after our Yellowstone trip, we%26#39;d like to stay in a somewhat nicer place - hopefully near nature so our son can run around. Unfortunately all the park run hotels in GTP (Jackson Lodge etc) are booked for July1-2. Any other ideas? Is Spring Creek Ranch worth the $340 a night for a hotel room?

Thanks!

We stayed at the Elk Country Inn in 2006. It was fine but not special. Easy walk to the town square and back. They did have a grassy area with picnic tables.

Can%26#39;t help you with the others. You might call the GTNP lodges off and on looking for cancellations, though.

We are staying at the Sundance Inn this June. We stayed at Wyoming Inn last summer. Others on TA like the Cowboy Village because of outdoor space, etc.

i like the sundance because it%26#39;s only 1 block from the square. it%26#39;s about $129 per night. http://www.sundanceinnjackson.com/

another favorite is the wagon wheel. it%26#39;s about 4 blocks from the square but has several different room options. there is also a restaurant, saloon, laundry, store, etc. it%26#39;s right across from the visitors center.

if you%26#39;re just looking for a place to crash for the evening, the kudar motel is probably the cheapest ';clean'; place that i%26#39;ve found. it%26#39;s just down from the wagon wheel about 3 blocks from the square.

any of the town square inns (of which the elk country inn is one) are fine. all are close enough to enjoy the square.
