Hi planning a trip to GTNP/Yellowstone in August.
My kids have been looking forward to the summer Olympics and just realized we are going to be camping with no tv for 10 days during the Olympics. We are planning on staying in GTNP campground during the opening ceremonies (8/8/08). Does anyone know if the lodges have televisions, maybe a bar area to catch some of the festivites? Normally could care less about TV, but thought if there was somewhere we could go at night, that would be fun. Thanks!
Strange QuestionI agree with you that is a hard time to be without a tv.
I know that the Snow Lodge at Old Faithful and the Mammoth Springs Hotel do not have TV anywhere in the lodges.
Strange QuestionI%26#39;m sure in Jackson WY you will find a tv to watch the Opening Ceremonies. Maybe at one of the casual restaurants or brewpub.
In Yellowstone, not sure you can find tv, but in West Yellowstone, Gardiner both outside of the park there will be restaurants, again, most likely with tv.
We are traveling at that time too, and I totally forgot about the Olympics starting then. Since I do not have lodging yet for Aug 8th, I guess we will be booking a night outside of the park, maybe in Cody on the way home!
We also will be recording on the DVR!
Signal Mountain Lodge has the TV and serves food at the bar + a great view of the Tetons from here...
This is the place....
Signal Mt lodge also has a tv room in the registration lobby for guests and visitors. This might be a good option if your family doesn%26#39;t want to hang out in a bar.
