My husband and I are staying two nights at the Old Faithful Inn. Looking for the best food in the area. How about the restaurants in other areas. The reviews I%26#39;ve seen so far are very mixed!

advice on restaurants in yellowstoneBest food in the Old Faithful area is at Old Faithful. You could drive to West YS, but there really is nothing high end there. Best places inside the park are still run by the concessions people, Xanterra so the food will not be awesome.. but decent.

If you are visiting Jackson WY and the Tetons, there are many high end restaurants there.
You are in the middle of a vast wilderness. The jobs there, for the most part are only seasonal -- June-Aug or mid-September. This means most help (wait staff, kitchen staff) are seasonal workers. You don%26#39;t go there for the culinary experience.
Our experience with the restaurants has been hit and miss. The dining rooms in both Old Faithful Inn and the Lake Hotel are beautiful! Just enjoy your time in the Inn and, as has been suggested, head to Jackson for a wonderful meal!
You will not be blown away by the dining experience at the Old Faithful Inn. I concur with previous comments. Enjoy the Inn, have a cocktail on the patio overlooking Old Faithful. It isn%26#39;t horrible, but doesn%26#39;t match the beauty of the Inn. If you are looking for a good dinner, try Jackson, or the Wapiti Lodge (2/3 the way to Cody) out the east gate of YNP. Cody has a few good places too (Proud Cut Saloon being my favorite).
in my opinion the yellowstone lake hotel has the best dinner inside the park. advance reservations are a must. it%26#39;s a great place to spend the evening in the huge lobby listening to the piano %26amp; watching the sun set over the lake. i called a few weeks ago %26amp; the only thing available when i%26#39;m going in july was either 5:30 or 8:15, so it books up quickly.
ptguard..thanks for the posting that. We will be there in July and I have not made my reservation yet at the hotel. I better get cracking!
I like the Old Faithful Inn in YNP. For best eating and a great choice then go to Jackson Hole- great food. I live in an area (Atlanta) where we have an abundance of great restaurants so I am a little picky about my food.
The Old Faithful Inn and the Lake Yellowstone Hotel have fantastic food. Breakfast at the Lake Yellowstone Hotel is the best. I don%26#39;t know if these places are open at this time of the year. I was there in June 07. Spent time in West Yellowstone, but found no good restaurants there.
