Gates into the Park

It%26#39;s been 30 years since I%26#39;ve been to Yellowstone. My husband and I are going to spend a week in the park in September. I have not been able to locate the park opening times (gates opening). We will be staying in the park once we arrive but will drive in from Cody for our first day. We would like to be in the park as early as possible but don%26#39;t want to sit in the car for an hour or more! Thanks for your replies.

You will not have to wait at the gate. Here is a quote from the YS web site ';Once an Entrance/Road opens, it is open 24 hours a day. The only exceptions are caused by road construction and weather-related restrictions.';

Thanks so much rwdw! I also appreciate the link. Haven%26#39;t had the time to spend as much time as I%26#39;d like searching the nps site due to work. Spring break is next week so I%26#39;ll have no kids for a week and plan to search to my hearts content. Thanks again...really looking forward to watching my husbands reactions to all we see.
