Hi All
We are planning a trip to YNP and GTNP the first 2 weeks of June, 2008. We are planing on spending 2 nights in Jackson. My parents who are in their 70%26#39;s will accompany us on this trip. We would prefer to minimize strenuous activity, but not adverse to some light walking. My question is, what should we absolutely not miss. I would like to take a snake river float trip. Would this be appropriate for my parents and is there a better rafting company that would be recommended.
Thanks
Grand Teton
Barker-Ewing is great for all ages for the Snake River Raft trip. We did it last year. One raft had several people in their 60%26#39;s and our raft had 2 families.

i don%26#39;t know if you have your reservations yet or not (hotels, rental cars, etc.), but if not you need to hustle.
the float trip would be great. if you are going to be going over to cody i%26#39;d spend the night there %26amp; go to the rodeo. if not, jackson has a rodeo on wed %26amp; sat nights. i never thought i would enjoy one but it was great. the buffalo bill museum is something to see.
if they have the new aerial tram at teton village ready they might enjoy that ride to the top of rendevous mountain.
there is a nice boat ride across jenny lake %26amp; a short hike up to inspiration point. you can walk back around the lake (level) or take the boat back.
we like to go to dornan%26#39;s at moose junction %26amp; sit on the deck watching the sun set in the evening. you are overlooking the snake river %26amp; staring right into the grand tetons. dornans has shops, a restaurant, bar, wine store, etc.
there are chuckwagon dinners that some say are a lot of fun all around the jackson area. they will enjoy the square %26amp; all the shops in jackson. there is also a playhouse performing in the summer but i can%26#39;t remember the name of it.
We took a float trip with Solitude last summer and it was excellent.I would highly recommend a walk around Jenny Lake-it%26#39;s level, the scenery is stunning, and you could walk as far as you want to and then head back.
You might consider dinner at the Jackson Lake Lodge. The restaurant has huge windows overlooking the Tetons;it%26#39;s probably the most beautiful view I%26#39;ve ever had at a restaurant.
Have fun!
Walk around the town and see the antler arch - look at all the galleries and shops - great art and history! Go by the Cowboy Bar for a look and take at least a morning or afternoon to tour the Nat%26#39;l Museum of Wildlike art. (one of our favorite days) Go out to Teton Village and go up the tram - great view and then you can have a nice lunch at the Mangy Moose. Prob will still be lots of snow at the toep - we went the first week of June two years and it snowed both times! Make sure you see the chapel of the Transfiguration(not sure that is the name) - very inspiring. Go up to the top of Signal Mt. and have lunch at the Signal Mt. Lodge overlooking the lake. There are quite alot of short walks - go to Moran Jct. and see the historical pictures and imagine living there then. Haven%26#39;t rafted - it rained the day wee were to go. Eat at Bubba%26#39;s - good fish at Nora%26#39;s fish Camp in WIlson. Have fun!
