We will be staying one night at the Plains Hotel on our way back to Denver. Where should we eat lunch %26amp; dinner? What attractions are a ';must see %26amp; do'; in Cheyenne? Thank you in advance for your help.
Restaurant Suggestions
Give me a bit more to go on regarding where to eat lunch and dinner. When will you be here?
The Old West Musuem on the rodeo grounds is wonderful. There is a Transportation Musuem in the Historic Train Depot which dominates the downtown landscape (and just a block from the Plains).
Restaurant Suggestions
What I meant was give me an idea of what type of food and price range you are looking for. The Capitol Grill in the Plains is good. The Albany (across the street from the Depot) is known for their steak sandwich and is a very popular lunch place.
14 miles north of Cheyenne on Happy Jack Road is a restaurant called ';The Bunkhouse';. The atmosphere is ';real';. Stuffed mounts abound and the prime rib is excellent in dinner or sandwich form and you%26#39;ll see some of Wyoming%26#39;s wildlife on the way. Closer to the Plains- cross the viaduct (85 - which joins Lincolway at The Plains, and go South to the second stoplight - turn right at the 2nd light- and left on the outer road to The Diamond Horseshow- and there is breakfast. Try the combination breakfast burrito. Hunan - at the corner of Carey and 17th has a lunch buffet, if you%26#39;re in the mood for Chinese - as does Twin Dragons which is also on Carey. Be sure to drive the 2 blocks over from Carey to 22nd and Pioneer to see our new library - it also has a café.
Thank you everyone for your suggestions. We will be in Cheyenne in late May. We probably will not eat an expensive dinner. We%26#39;d rather use what little time we have grabbing quick bites somewhere that has lots of atmosphere. :)
Across the street from the Plains is a good East Coast style pizza place. Also for breakfast or lunch the Luxery Diner (just a ways from downtown) is excellent -- they are not open for dinner.
Great. I appreciate your help!
Diamond Horseshoe Café will be located about 5 blocks south of your hotel. Sounds like what you are lookin%26#39; for. :) they are only open for breakfast and lunch. Home cookin%26#39; at low prices.
Thanks so much! :)
