Hi Folks, First, thanks for all the wonderful advice on traveling through Wyoming I have found on this site. In 3 weeks we will be heading back to Denver airport from W.Yellowstone via Cody , where we will stop for a few hours, then press on through Wind River Canyon. On the map it looks like Shoshoni is a good mid-point to stop for the night. But I can only find one listing for a motel in Shoshoni, The Desert Inn (not the one Sinatra played at, I don%26#39;t thinnk (-: ) and no info on it except a phone #. We are game if it is quiet and clean, but how to tell? Does anyone know it, or anywhere else to recommend in the area? Or should we just press on to Casper? It%26#39;s a long drive.

staying in Shoshoni
Maybe you should just head to Thermopolis. There are quite a few places to stay there, plus the hot springs.
Then you will have a 6+ hour drive to Denver.
Have a great trip.
staying in Shoshoni
We live close to Shoshoni and know the town well. It is a very small town with two small quick marts and a school. I don%26#39;t think Sinatra stayed at this Desert Inn. We have never stayed there but know a lot of local oil rig workers who have. Your best bet would be to stay in Thermopolis before the Wind River canyon (big chain motels but nice small town) There is the dinasour museum and the State Hot Springs is a must ( and its free) or local swimming pool if you have kids. Good luck!
You may have already taken this trip, but I wanted to say that I%26#39;m pretty sure there aren%26#39;t any motels in Shoshoni. Definitely none that I would stay in :) Stay in Thermopolis, there are tons of motels.
