west yellowstone versus staying in the park

We will be visiting yellowstone the 2nd week in june , my husband ,myself ,my 2yr old and my senior parents. We are traveling up from Jackson hole in our travel trailer and I can not decide whether to stay in the park or stay in West Yellowstone.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to be able to enjoy and relax in the evenings.

Tons of replies to this very question. You can find them by selecting the various queries. IMHO, best is to stay in the park. You re not clear, is the travel trailer the size that accommodates you all? In any case, if not, you might find trouble getting lodging through the Xanterra.com website. I%26#39;d review the types of lodging you require, check the website as to what is available, then call their toll free number and ask their personal help. Vacancies do occur. Your additional problem is finding rooms in the same location (assuming that matters), so you might have to be flexible. Otherwise, I%26#39;d find any place in W. Yellowstone that can accommodate your group. But, you will have to drive in and out of the park each day, and it%26#39;s a bit of a hassle. Also, you don%26#39;t get that National Park feeling of staying in the park. Here is the YNP website page re: such accommodations:

Stay in the park.

Stay in the park. We stayed in West Yellowstone and it was nice but required going into and out of the park each day. Plus you don%26#39;t get the chance to see any animals or experience the park at night.
