We are planning to bring our children ages 6 %26amp; 10 to Yellowstone. This will be our first visit. Can anyone suggest the most convenient airport %26amp; location or town to stay in for a condo or home rental? I would like to stay in a home with a kitchen so we can dine at home most days %26amp; do laundry. What is there to do in late May? Should we visit other areas? We are planning to stay for 2 weeks.
late May in Yellowstone?
I would probably fly into Jackson Hole and rent a house or condo there. The only thing about this is that you will be driving longer distances to see YNP and GT. For example if you want to go to Cody it is a 3-4 hour drive from Jackson Hole. There are some lodges and hotels that offer kitchens which might be a better choice because you can stay in West Yellowstone or Gardiner, Jackson Hole and Cody to see the scenery, wildlife, museums, etc.in that area of YNP and GT. If you are going to be in the west for 2 weeks then you might think about Mt. Rushmore also. If you have not made reservations then I would do so now. We are coming the last of May and I made my reservations in Jan. and early Feb.

The closest airport is Jackson, but it is rather pricey. Salt Lake City is the closest major airport, but sometimes Bozeman or Billings, Montana could be an option.
I did a quick internet search and it appears there are some condos available for rent in West Yellowstone, and a few homes in Cody. I would consider a week in West Yellowstone to do the Tetons, Jackson and western part of Yellowstone and then move to Cody for a week to do the northern and eastern side of the park and Cody.
we had good results flying into bozeman fromatlanta and following the gallatin river down through big sky to the park. but expect snow in may. more than you think! inside the park such accomodations are very few to my knowledge, but it%26#39;s a huge park so outside the park and from manydiffferent locations many options exist. enjoy your trip!
