Revised Yellowstone Trip Schedule

I have tried to streamline some of our plans to give us more time to enjoy the places.

Here is my new plan.

6/3-early flight arrives in Denver at 8:00 a.m. Drive to Keystone, SD with a detour at Custer on the Needles highway (if time). See Mt. Rushmore lighting ceremony. Stay in Keystone.

6/4-Either visit the badlands or Custer State Park through early afternoon. Spend the night in Sundance, WY

6/5-Drive to Cody. Afternoon at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. Night at the Dan Miller Cowboy Revue.

6/6-9-Stay in West Yellowstone and visit YNP.

6/10-Head to Signal Mountain Lodge for 2 nights. Stop at West Thumb and visit north part of GTNP. Evening Scenic Float Trip out of Signal Mtn.

6/11-Hike to Inspiration Point and GTNP areas.

6/12-Drive to Estes Park area

6/13-day in Rocky Mountain National Park

6/14-15-visit friends in Buena Vista, CO

6/16-spend most of the day in Denver and fly home on a 6:50 p.m. flight.

Revised Yellowstone Trip Schedule

Looks great. We are doing a lot of the same things but going to Battle of Little Bighorn and staying 2 days in Cody. What about the Cody Rodeo- a must see???

Revised Yellowstone Trip Schedule

There is a rodeo in West Yellowstone on 2 of the nights we will be there. Right now, we plan to do that. It probably won%26#39;t be as big as the Cody rodeo, but we probably won%26#39;t know the difference.

Don%26#39;t worry about the difference in the rodeos, the Cody Night Rodeo is for tourists as in the West Yellowstone Rodeo. You are correct -- you won%26#39;t know the difference. The ';real'; Cody rodeo, the Stampede runs from July 1-4.

6/3- I would seriously look at Custer SD to stay instead of Keystone. Custer is a more real town and Keystone is more of a tourist place. We did not like Keystone at all! Custer seemed like a small town, good pizza place and a few great breakfast spots. See Mt Rushmore at night.

6/4- I would visit Custer State Park and either Wind Cave or Jewel Cave. I think these places will be more fun that driving to the Badlands.. just my opinion tho.

6/5-Drive to Cody. How about the rodeo?

6/6-9-4 nights in West YS. You will be able to see many things. Rodeo, Grizzly Wolf Center and even a drive up to Quake Lake. Plus all your days in YS!

6/10-Arrive in Tetons mid day. See Colter Bay area. THe Evening Float trip sounds great!

6/11-Hike to Inspiration Point, maybe hike there and take the ferry boat back. Also go see the Mormon Barns and the town of Jackson.

6/12- Along the way to Estes, stop and see Sacagawea%26#39;s grave near Lander, Sinks Canyon near Lander and Ft Steele near Rawlins.
